Biography
Curly hairs; an oval face; bright eyes and lips with cherry red colour, grabbing of crayon to scribble on the paper till one day my kindergarten’s teacher asked why are you so fascinated with drawing girl’s faces?
How could a tree trunk be in purple, I could not understand?
Is Teacher Han having difficulties in seeing colours?
How Teacher Han do it, as she is so slender?
Impressive with the mural she had painted in my primary school.
What are we going to paint today? A yellow chrysanthemum is on my drawing block.
I’m here, happily with Teacher Han for our excursion to NAFA at River Valley Road.
I want to go into art classes and to have this subject in my O level certificate. I can’t afford the school fee to NAFA. I have to leave my dreams aside and wishes one day to come back.
I should’ve taken night classes from the community club.
I think I am stuck here, hmmm…why I couldn’t see further in painting after few years of lesson? Let’s take up the part-time courses from NAFA, Western painting in oil, watercolour, charcoal and pencil, so interesting!
Finally, I’m back to school.
Wise and mature faces and the energetic youngster are around in LaSalle-SIA.
Learning to get along with classmates and lecturers, sharing of new ideas and technique from each other, stressed of date line for projects, so much anxieties and laughter.
After all these years, I do not just see tree trunk in purple but with many colours my heart and mind.
